Everything you need to know about getting started with ArtFitness, in-person personal training, online coaching and your free consultation.
Getting started
Absolutely not.
Personal training is built around your current starting point, not where you think you should already be. Whether you are completely new to exercise, returning after time away or already training regularly, your sessions can be adapted to your current ability, experience and goals.
You do not need to “get fit first” before working with a Personal Trainer.
Yes. You do not need any previous gym experience.
Part of my role is to help you become comfortable with the gym environment, equipment and exercises while teaching you how to train safely and confidently.
We will start at a level appropriate for you and progress gradually as your confidence and ability develop.
ArtFitness in-person training and online coaching can be built around a range of goals, including:
Your training will be based around your individual goal, starting point, experience and lifestyle rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme.
That is completely understandable, especially if you are new to training or returning after a long time away.
You do not need to know how everything works before you start. Part of personal training is helping you become more comfortable with the gym environment, learn how to use equipment and gradually build confidence.
ArtFitness provides supportive, judgement-free personal training whatever your starting point.
Online coaching is a professional service for people who want to train independently at home or in their own gym while still having structure, guidance, accountability and ongoing support from ArtFitness.
Your exercise and activity plan is built around your goals, ability, lifestyle, schedule and available equipment. You complete the training at times that work for you, with the level of check-in contact and programme management included in your chosen four-week package.
Neither service is better than the other — they suit different needs.
In-person training gives you face-to-face coaching during scheduled PT sessions at an agreed London venue. Online coaching gives you a structured programme, accountability and ongoing support while you train independently at home or in your own gym.
Your free consultation gives us a chance to discuss your goals, experience, schedule and preferred training environment before deciding what fits you best.
Consultation and onboarding
The free consultation is a relaxed 15-minute conversation about you and your goals. We can discuss:
What you would like to achieve
Your current activity and training experience
Any relevant health considerations
Whether you want in-person training or online coaching
Where you expect to train and the equipment available
Your availability and realistic activity level
The type of support you are looking for
Pricing and training options
Any questions you may have
It is a chance for me to understand what you want to achieve, answer your questions and identify the best way to start.
Yes. The initial consultation is free and lasts approximately 15 minutes.
It gives us time to discuss your goals, answer your questions and establish the best starting point for your training.
After your free consultation, the next step before paid personal training begins is the required ArtFitness onboarding process.
This includes appropriate pre-exercise screening and PAR-Q, required declarations and consent information, reviewing and accepting the Terms & Conditions, and reviewing the Privacy Policy. I will review the completed information before confirming that training can begin.
If your screening identifies something that may require additional medical advice, referral or clearance, this will be discussed with you before your first session.
Personal training is designed to be adaptable, and health conditions or injuries do not automatically mean that personal training is unavailable to you.
Relevant health information will be discussed and appropriate pre-exercise screening completed before training begins. Your training can be adapted where appropriate, while some circumstances may require additional medical advice or clearance first.
If something falls outside my professional scope, I will recommend advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before training continues.
Your training
ArtFitness is a North-West London personal-training service and is not tied to a single gym brand or training venue. In-person training serves clients across NW2, NW6 and nearby areas including Cricklewood, Kilburn, West Hampstead, Queen's Park, Brondesbury and Willesden Green.
Current third-party gym venues that may be available by prior agreement include:
Energie Fitness Cricklewood
Energie Fitness Kilburn
Your training venue will be discussed and agreed before paid sessions are booked. Online, outdoor, home or another suitable private-location session may also be available by prior agreement.
If an ArtFitness session is agreed to take place at an Energie Fitness venue, you are responsible for having the appropriate gym membership or access required by that venue. Gym membership and access are separate from ArtFitness and are not included in ArtFitness personal-training fees.
Your training does not have to stop when our PT session ends. Where appropriate, I can also help structure the training you complete independently between sessions, including gym workouts and suitable fitness classes, so that everything works together towards your overall goal.
Your programme will be based around your individual goals, current ability, availability and how often you are realistically able to train.
Yes. Your training will be based around your own:
Goals
Starting point
Current ability
Training experience
Availability
Preferences
Progress over time
The aim is to build a realistic plan for you rather than giving every client the same programme.
Yes. Depending on your goals and how often you are able to train, I can help structure what you do outside our one-to-one sessions.
This may include independent gym training and, where suitable, fitness classes. The aim is for your PT sessions and your own training to work together as part of a realistic plan towards your overall goal.
Yes. Nutrition guidance can be included alongside your training where appropriate. I can help you understand:
Overall calorie intake
Protein intake
Carbohydrates
Fats
General eating habits
How nutrition can support your training and fitness goals
The focus is practical, sustainable guidance that can work alongside your lifestyle and training.
I do not provide medical nutrition treatment or prescribe individual meal plans, and I am not a registered nutritionist or dietitian. If you need specialist or clinical nutrition support, I may recommend an appropriately qualified healthcare or nutrition professional.
Your preferences matter.
There may be times when I recommend particular exercises because they can help you work towards your goal, but your programme should also be realistic and enjoyable enough for you to stick with.
If you dislike an exercise, feel uncomfortable with it or something does not feel right, tell me. Where appropriate, we can usually look at alternatives that train the same area or movement in a different way.
Your personal-training frequency is built around your goals, availability, experience and wider training.
For many clients, regular PT sessions provide valuable structure, progression and accountability. Your consultation is where we can establish the training frequency that best supports your goals and fits realistically into your schedule.
Practical information
One-to-one personal training sessions are 50 minutes.
Your session time includes the appropriate preparation, exercise instruction and training required for that appointment.
Online coaching begins with a free consultation rather than an immediate public purchase.
We first discuss your goals, current fitness level, training experience, schedule, whether you will train at home or in a gym, the equipment available and the support you are likely to need. Once the approach is agreed, you complete onboarding and receive access to the private ArtFitness payment page for the selected package.
This optional £40 add-on is available exclusively to clients with an active ArtFitness online coaching package. It covers one 50-minute personal training session with me at the gym.
We can go through your programme, practise exercises and equipment, check technique and build confidence training independently. Additional one-off sessions can be purchased separately while your online coaching package remains active.
Yes, you can book a Single PT Session without purchasing a package.
For ongoing structure, progression, accountability and support, one-to-one coaching is also available through 4-week coaching packages with one, two or three PT sessions per week. We can discuss which option best supports your goals and availability during your free consultation.
A Single PT Session gives you one focused, personalised 50-minute appointment planned around your goals and current ability.
Each 4-week coaching package combines regular one-to-one training with ongoing guidance, accountability, training adjustments, progress support and a 4-week review. Packages are available with one, two or three PT sessions per week.
We can discuss which option best supports your goals, starting point and availability during your free consultation.
Yes. ArtFitness also offers personal training for couples and small groups.
If you would prefer to train together, please enquire during your free consultation so we can discuss your training needs, group size and available options.
Payment is completed before your first session begins, once your consultation, onboarding and training arrangements have been agreed.
Payment can be made by cash, bank transfer or secure card payment via Square. All three payment methods are equally available.
You do not need to provide payment details simply to book your free consultation.
If you know that you cannot attend, please contact me as soon as possible and I will always try to help where I reasonably can.
Sessions can normally be cancelled or rescheduled without charge when at least 24 hours’ notice is provided. With less than 24 hours’ notice, rescheduling is not guaranteed and the session will normally still be charged in full or deducted from your package.
I understand that unexpected situations can happen, so exceptional circumstances may be considered individually.
This is a practical summary. Please read the ArtFitness Terms & Conditions for the complete cancellation and rescheduling policy.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you think you are going to be late.
Sessions still finish at their originally scheduled time, so arriving late normally reduces the training time available. For example, arriving 10 minutes late for a 50-minute appointment would normally leave approximately 40 minutes.
Arrival 20 minutes or more after the scheduled start time may be treated as a no-show, particularly where there is no longer enough time to prepare and train safely.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and suitable training shoes.
Bring water and anything else you would normally need for your gym visit. If there is anything specific you need to bring for your first session, I will let you know beforehand.
Still have a question?
LET’S TALK IT THROUGH
Your free consultation is a relaxed place to talk about your goals, ask questions and decide whether in-person training or online coaching is the right way to begin.
